The McHenry Riverwalk Foundation and the Parks & Recreation Department initially launched the Fire Globe program in 2019 and used a crowdfunding campaign called “Light Up the Night Fire Globe Campaign” to install around 11 globes. The Fire Globes are traditionally lit at dusk, and for a period were lit every Saturday through October, weather permitting
